According to reports by AppleInsider, Apple has decided to axe, for the first time, live webcasts of the MacWorld conference. Much to the chagrin of loyal mac enthusiasts details of this year’s MacWorld will only be available after the conference.
Normally, MacWorld and other Apple events are available at Apple’s QuickTime website, in the form of live webcasts. This year, Apple CEO Steve Jobs, for costs consideration has decided against the traditional live webcasts, in contrast to earlier rumours that the decision was made as a snapback for the recent spate of leaks over the Internet.
Its expected that security over intellectual property will be even tighter in time to come as the niche computer maker, synonymous for its secrecy, paves the way for total media blackouts regarding its upcoming products and projects. Being renown as an innovator, analysts have surmised that its existence is largely dependant on its priority placed on secrecy of its projects and products. From the introduction of notebooks with displays that come in a landscape format(mirroring Apple’s popular PowerBook series) as opposed to the traditional square-ish display, by a plethora of PC manufacturers, its obvious that Apple innovation changes market trends. The next most copied product is the iPod and Mini iPod.
