MacChampion has come up with a competing mouse pointer enhancement, to Boinx Software’s Mousepose – Pinpoint.
Although, Mousepose does an arguably better job at highlighting a point and is particularly geared for training purposes, Pinpoint works magic by turning our common Mac OS X mouse pointers into cute representations of self. From simple geometric shapes to a little mouse that holds its outstretched hand to point at the element in contention. Pinpoint appears to ship, equipped to entertain. There are also transparency options and the option to colorise your mouse pointer cursor; along with a preview window that allows you to determine the placement of your Pinpoint cursor in relation to your default Mac OS X mouse pointer.
If the default mouse pointers are not enough for your fancy, MacChampion’s package also comes bundled with extra mouse pointers. Added to that, Pinpoint also comes with complete instructions on how to make your own mouse pointer enhancements.
Much unlike Boinx Software’s Mousepose, Pinpoint also comes with the option to run as a login item as well as having the cursor appear only when a hotkey is pressed, temporarily or as a toggle.
Despite its greater ability for customisation, the real difference is a full version of Pinpoint retails at USD$10.00 whereas Boinx Software’s Mousepose can be unlocked for free by submitting an email address to Boinx Software.
