VLC No Video Only Audio After macOS Update

There are reports of popular media player VLC only playing audio without any video after the latest macOS Sierra 10.12.6 update.

Despite any manipulation of VLC’s settings there doesn’t appear to be an obvious cure.

Even re-installing VLC doesn’t fix this break.

The fix is surprisingly simple. Reset your Mac’s PRAM.

Power down your Mac.

Hold down CMD + P + R whilst restaring your Mac.

Release CMD + P + R after your hear three (3) bongs and allow your Mac to restart normally.

Test a video with VLC. It should be working now.
