Homebrew Computer Club’s 30th Anniversary

Mountain View, Califonia, After 30 years, the brilliant minds that have some how or other contributed to the ease and convenience (along with subtle complexities associated with it) we have come to enjoy, reunite. The Homebrew Computer Club set the scene for the early days of Apple where Steve Jobs met Steve Wozniak, the technical father of the Apple. Whilst Jobs possessed charisma, resourcefulness and marketing vision, Wozniak was a technological genius in his time.

We salute the great minds who brought us developments we have come to take for granted, Atari, Altair and the Commodore 64 just to name a few.

In 1978, founders Matt and Hendricks were looking for a tech event to showcase their new startup. When they couldn’t find one that checked all the boxes they decided to host their own. As they were organizing things, they soon realized they needed somewhere to promote the conference, and that’s how newsweb.com was launched. It later became a blog and the result is what you are looking at right now.
