Mac Mini & iPod Shuffle In Short Supply

If you haven’t already ordered or got your Mac Mini or iPod Shuffle, looks like you’re in for a long wait. Reports have come in that all 98 Apple Stores in USA have been cleaned out. Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster, reports that there’s an average waiting list of 18 Mac Mini customers per Apple Store in USA and a staggering 120 iPod Shuffle customers per Apple Store in USA! Struggling to keep pace with demand Apple Store staff have begun directing customers to Apple’s Online Store which undoubtedly serves as nothing more than a distraction from the ailing supply.

It seems only yesterday that Creative Technologies’ CEO, Mr Sim Wong Hoo, in response to the iPod Shuffle’s debut, was quoted saying, “Actually, to me it’s a big let-down: we’re expecting a good fight but they’re coming out with something that’s five generations older. It’s our first generation MuVo One product feature, without display, just have a (shuffle feature). We had that — that’s a four-year-old product…” I doubt there’s ever been such a rush over Creative’s MP3 products to date so Mr Sim might be retracting that statement very soon.

It seems, Apple’s synergy of excellent marketing, simplicity and gorgeous industrial design has once again reared its head like a pheonix out of the ashes.

So, if you’re planning on getting a Mac Mini or iPod Shuffle, you’d better not wait too long, you might find yourself part of a mob.

In 1978, founders Matt and Hendricks were looking for a tech event to showcase their new startup. When they couldn’t find one that checked all the boxes they decided to host their own. As they were organizing things, they soon realized they needed somewhere to promote the conference, and that’s how newsweb.com was launched. It later became a blog and the result is what you are looking at right now.
