Marcel Bresink Software-Systeme, Tweak Your Mac With Tinker Tool

With the ever shrinking populous of useful freeware apps available on the World Wide Web these days, its surprising that Marcel Bresink Software-Systeme (MBS) is offeringTinker Tool for free.

A highly recommended app for those of us who just can’t seem to leave operating systems alone. Tinker Tool opens access via its simple UI, to the features in Mac OS X 10.4 that aren’t normally available to us.

This app is especially useful if you’re tired of Mac OS X 10.4’s system fonts, allowing easy access to swap the default system fonts for one of your choosing.

Along with this feature, Tinker Tool also opens doors to tweaking:

  • The Finder
  • The Dock
  • Toggling Dashboard on/off as well as Dashboard’s developer mode
  • Toggling Mac OS X 10.4’s default screenshot file format
  • Certain Applications
  • System Font Smoothing
  • File/Folder Permissions and;
  • Apple Safari

Definitely one for the arsenal…

In 1978, founders Matt and Hendricks were looking for a tech event to showcase their new startup. When they couldn’t find one that checked all the boxes they decided to host their own. As they were organizing things, they soon realized they needed somewhere to promote the conference, and that’s how newsweb.com was launched. It later became a blog and the result is what you are looking at right now.
