Microsoft, Availability Of Internet Explorer For Mac Has Ceased
Ever wonder why Microsoft Internet Explorer (IE) some times doesn’t display web pages as they should? The Redmond-based software giant has ceased development of IE from as early as 2003 and has recently removed its availability from its Mactopia site. For this same reason, Microsoft Internet Explorer no longer ships as part of the Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger installation.
Its best to use a browser that keeps abreast with the development of web protocols. For this purpose there are a plethora of alternative Mac browsers:
- Apple Safari
- Mozilla FireFox
- Netscape
- Shira
- iCab
- Sunrise Browser (for web developers)
At press time, all of the browsers listed above are freeware and can be downloaded off their various sites. Apple Safari, ships with Mac OS X 10.4 Tiger.
