Simon Vrel, Now You Can Download You Tube Videos With Get Tube 1.0

Check out Get Tube, version 1.0, from Simon Vrel. The latest, in a slew of applications that attempts to provide You Tube web site visitors with the ability to download and preserve their favourite You Tube movies.

Movies offered on You Tube are commonly offered as Macromedia Flash files and in so doing, prevent downloading or saving. You’ll need something like Get Tube to help you do it. What Get Tube does, is, download and convert the Flash movie into mp4 format.

However, to use Get Tube, you’ll need to also download and install VideoLAN (VLC) on your Mac. When installing VLC, be sure to install it within the root of your Applications folder. Otherwise, Get Tube will not function as it should. Although, there is an option in Get Tube’s Preferences to locate VLC’s alternative file path, from our experience, Get Tube will not work unless VLC is placed in the root of your Applications folder.

Other sites that work with Get Tube, include DailyMotion site and Kewego site.

In 1978, founders Matt and Hendricks were looking for a tech event to showcase their new startup. When they couldn’t find one that checked all the boxes they decided to host their own. As they were organizing things, they soon realized they needed somewhere to promote the conference, and that’s how newsweb.com was launched. It later became a blog and the result is what you are looking at right now.
