Spotlight Searches Multiple Hard Drives!

Not that we disbelieve Steve when Apple claims Spotlight can, “Find anything, anywhere, fast.” We just had to put it to the test and we ended up red in the face with the results. We attached as many hard drives that we could to a PowerMac and set Spotlight to work on the 5 hard drives.

After about 40 minutes of indexing Spotlight was ready and we were thrilled to find seemless, almost, instant results whenever we typed all the ridiculous search words into Spotlight. Its so good at finding stuff that we’re beginning to think that Spotlight should have been named “Boo-boo” or “Lassie” instead.

In 1978, founders Matt and Hendricks were looking for a tech event to showcase their new startup. When they couldn’t find one that checked all the boxes they decided to host their own. As they were organizing things, they soon realized they needed somewhere to promote the conference, and that’s how newsweb.com was launched. It later became a blog and the result is what you are looking at right now.
