Stop iPhoto From Launching Automatically When iPhone Is Connected

Owners of iPhones have probably had enough of iPhoto launching every time they attach their iPhone to their Macs. This occurs by default, whenever an iPhone or any camera with pictures in it is attached but can be switched off.

The only thing is, the switch cannot be found in iPhoto or iTunes…

To switch off this default behaviour users have to launch the Image Capture application that can be found inside the Applications folder. Navigate to the Preferences menu in the Image Capture menu.

Select “No Application” in the drop down menu of the “When a camera is connected, open” option. Quit Image Capture to save the preferences and iPhoto should not launch automatically anymore.

In 1978, founders Matt and Hendricks were looking for a tech event to showcase their new startup. When they couldn’t find one that checked all the boxes they decided to host their own. As they were organizing things, they soon realized they needed somewhere to promote the conference, and that’s how newsweb.com was launched. It later became a blog and the result is what you are looking at right now.
