Transform Your Gmail Account Into Online Portable Storage With gDisk
gDisk, created by Jean-Matthieu Schaffhauser, transforms your Gmail account into portable online storage. gDisk’s GUI interface makes uploading and downloading a matter of dragging and dropping. gDisk requires Mac OS X 10.3 or higher and a Gmail account.
With gDisk you can create folders (called “labels” in gDisk) on your Gmail account and upload/download files for storage. Uploading a file has the effect of creating a draft ‘conversation’ entry in your Gmail account. This can be viewed by logging into your Gmail account as you normally would on a browser.
However, despite its functionality, gDisk together with Gmail, does not function exactly like an ftp application working together with an online server account. Nevertheless, provides a cost effective solution to online storage of limited file types.

Issues :
- When a gDisk label is deleted, its content is not move to the trash bin
- Listing gDisk label can take some time.
- You cannot empty the trash bin from gDisk, you have to log into your gmail account and do it manually
- Only regular files can be uploaded. Folders and bundles directories are not yet supported. A workaround is to archive them in a zip file before uploading
Currently, Gmail accounts can be acquired through invitations by current Gmail users.
