Windows Media Player (Mac) Windows Media Components For QuickTime

Telestream, the company that pioneered high-quality media exchange over IP networks, has given Mac users the gift of being able to play Windows Media (.wma and .wmv) files right from our QuickTime players. Dispensing the need to rely on Microsoft’s Windows Player, which at press time, is in its version 9 incarnation.

By downloading and installing Telestream’s Flip4Mac, you can view Windows Media files using Quicktime and view Windows Media content on the Internet using Safari. Windows Media® Components for QuickTime has been highly optimized for Power Mac G4 and G5 computers and supports playback of high-definition Windows Media video files.

Windows Media playback is always enabled, other features are available in trial mode until you purchase an upgrade.

The Windows Media Component can also be downloaded at Microsoft’s Windows Media support site.

In 1978, founders Matt and Hendricks were looking for a tech event to showcase their new startup. When they couldn’t find one that checked all the boxes they decided to host their own.
